Our next meeting: 8pm Wednesday 5 August
The next Brighton, Hove and District Trade Union Council meeting will take place at 8pm on Wednesday 5 August at The Stag public house on Upper Bedford Street, Brighton. This meeting is open to all interested trade unionists living and/or working in the area who want to get active in strenghtening trade union movement.
At tonight's meeting we will be discussing support that can be built for the workers at the Vestas windturbine plant on the Isle of Wight (see message of solidarity from Brighton Trades Council below) and demonstrations and action that can be organised for the Labour Party conference coming up next month. We hope to see you there.
Dear comrades
Brighton, Hove and District Trades Union Council sends greetings to the Vestas workforce engaged in a battle to defend jobs, and defend the planet. We salute the courage of those who are currently in occupation and the determination of those who are organising other forms of protest and helping to build support throughout the international Trade Union Movement.
Several members of BH&DTUC have travelled to the IOW to attend your meetings and demonstrations, and have found them to be an inspiration. We will keep our members informed of developments and will continue to provide whatever support we can.
Yours in Solidarity - Unity is Strength
