Brighton and Hove City council want to close Bright Start Nursery to save money. Come and here the case for keeping a well established and respected nursery open.
Speakers so far:
LORD BASSAM of BRIGHTON
(former Bright Start parent,Labour Chief Whip in House ofLords)
DAVE RUSSELL
(Hollingbury bin depot GMB branch,which beat Brighton council pay cuts in 2009)
CAROLINE LUCAS MP
BRIGHT START PARENT
UNISON NATIONAL SPEAKER
PHOENIX NURSERY WORKER
(their campaign stopped Brighton uni closing them down earlier this year)
Other speakers may include Brighton Stop the Cuts Coalition, a 6th form student on the schools walkout, and an NUJ Argus striker.
Speakers should be brief to allow some time to discuss the campaign, how it links unions and service users and its place in the anti-cuts campaign.
