Our June trades council meeting...
With potentially Britain's biggest strike for some time on the cards at the end of the month, our June trades council meeting will take place after Wednesday's strike planning meeting that is being co-ordinated by those unions currently balloting for action...
7pm Wednesday June 8
Friends Meeting House, Ship Street, Brighton
http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=215547348479435
All trade unionists are encouraged to come along to help organise and spread the word of the battle being fought by our brothers and sisters in ATL, NUT, PCS and UCU, to defend our pensions from attack - increases in retirement age, workers' contributions and a switch to the lower CPI rate of interest are unnecessary cuts to our hard won 'defered wages' that are being used to pay for the government's debt caused by rescuing their capitalist economy with the bail out of the banks.
Leaflets to distribute around workplaces will be available to take away at the meeting, with time for a discussion on how we can build support among all workers and our communities for those preparing to embark on industrial action.
After, executive committee members and all interested trade unionists are invited to gather to discuss all our other trade union campaigns, news and information, as we will have the meeting room until 10pm.
