And the Miners Lamp goes to...

Phil Clark receives the Miners Lamp award at the Brighton, Hove and District Trades Union Council 2011 AGM last Wednesday in honour of his efforts and hard work for the labour movement over the last year. In accepting the award for the second year running, NUT delegate Mr Clarke gave his thanks to everyone involved in the Brighton Stop the Cuts Coalition and offered to share the honour with him. "Without all the activists' help none of what we have achieved so far would have been possible."

Notice of our 2010 AGM

The Brighton, Hove and District Trades Union Council 2010 AGM will take place at:

7.45pm for an 8pm start
Wednesday 24 February

Kemptown Crypt Community Centre
St George's Street, Kemp Town, Brighton.

Please email us at brightontradescouncil@gmail.com for affiliation forms

Please raise the issue of reaffiliation at your next Branch or Officers’ meeting. Trades Council meetings have been better attended over the last year and we have been able to give support and publicity to a number of disputes and Labour Movement causes:. However this has not been fully reflected in the number of Branches who have actually paid their affiliation fee and appointed delegates.

It would be a great help if delegates and Branch Secretaries could let us have their email addresses. (A big thanks to those of you who are already getting these notices via email).

Thanks for everyone's help and we hope to see you all there.
