Wednesday 27th March 7:30pm
As the government’s cuts program continues to drive down living standards and break up the welfare state, the trade union movement and community campaigns remain the real opposition to austerity.
Brighton and Hove Trades Union Council has continued to grow this year in representation from branches and to build on its campaigning activities, but much more need to be done to create a successful fight-back against austerity and bring our movement together.
The AGM will hear from Matt Wrack, General Secretary of the Fire Brigades Union which is currently
battling to save a dozen fire stations in London, and the meeting will elect new Trades Council Officers and committee.
All Trade Union members are welcome to attend and all local union branches encouraged to affiliate and send delegates. If you would like to be a delegate please contact your Union Branch Secretary in the first instance. Nominations for officer positions can be taken from branches prior to the meeting or from the floor at the meeting. Please email if you think your branch has not yet received a 2013 affiliation form.
Printed colour flyers are available please email to arrange getting hold of them, a black and white printable version is attached.
If your campaign group would like space to give out material please get in touch.
Fraternally,
Phil Clarke
General Secretary,
Brighton Hove and District Trades Union Council
