Upcoming Strike Action
More strikes against privatisation, pension cuts and for decent pay are going on over the next week or so. Please show your support for these union actions. If you would like to send messages of support but don’t have contact details send them to the trades council at this email and I will forward them on to the unions concerned.
Unison/Unite/UCU at the universities are out on the 31/10. Main pickets will be from 8am but there will be a presence from earlier than this at main university entrances. A march to be followed by a strike rally is assembling at midday at Victoria Gardens so please make it along if you can.
Joint press release here http://www.ucu.org.uk/6794
The FBU have declared strike action on both the 1/11 and 4/11 in defence of pensions. Specific times are below and if you can pop down to pickets at your local Fire Station to show support.
The CWU will be out over threats to pay and conditions and against the breakneck pace privatisation of Royal Mail on the 4/11
Finally NAPO the Probation Officers Union have called a strike from midday on the 5/11 to midday on the 6/11 against privatisation of the service.
Finally please don’t forget on Saturday the Defend the NHS/GMB demo (details below) – bring friends and family – who hasn’t needed our health service at some point?
And… I have twice put the Small Revolutions Peoples Assembly benefit with the wrong day – Sorry! It’s Sunday 10th Nov.
Thanks
